In my previous post I briefly described the power of music, used to distract our “chatting minds” when we are in meditation. Another brilliant instrument used by Law of Attraction practitioners is reading.
This is not to be used in meditation for obvious reasons, but is not less powerful. When we read we entertain our brain by many means; it has to convert particles of light into coherent and familiar patterns, it must translate those patterns in words, thoughts, elaborate meanings and make judgments. In this way our Self is free to connect to the source, to that primordial well of energy that will respond to our vibrations and will make us manifest what we wish. When you read something appealing enough to trick your brain, you will receive intuitions as short bursts of thought energy. I experienced that the best ideas, advices or visualizations have manifested when my mind was apparently busy in doing something else. But we are not our minds. When we connect to our higher - self we acquire superior wisdom, not by reasoning, but by tapping into our true being. Read about spirituality or philosophy, when you can, they are the best for this purpose.
The benefits of reading are not limited by the above considerations, of course. A good book will open your mind, will give you hope, power, wisdom, compassion, balance and you can suggest many other virtues.
A book can really be your best friend.
